Death toll rises in China quake

CHENGDU, China (CNN) -- The first of 1,300 medical and rescue workers have reached the remote epicenter of Monday's strong earthquake, China's state media said.The death toll after a 7.8-magnitude quake in south-western China rises to at least 10,000, state media says, with rescuers yet to reach victims at the epicentre.
